Description: 6'2, deeply tanned, silken black hair that tends to fall infront of his eyes and hangs loosely around his neck.  Blue eyes, a light sky blue that makes you think of fresh air.  Broad shouldered, but not overly muscled.  More athletic build than anything.

Personality: Somewhat somber, older brother type, honest to a fault, and it sometimes gets him in trouble. 

History:

He was adopted by Daniella Damarsk when he was two years of age, after losing his mother and father within a day of each other.  Daniella was a young barmaid who found Tal'Aren cowering outside the tavern she waited tables at.  She took the boy in, immediately falling in love (A mothers type of love.) with his wide blue eyes.  Luckily for her, the owner of her workplace had three grandchildren of his own that his wife would babysit on the premises.  Daniella was able to leave Tal'Aren with her while she worked her shifts.  Tal'Aren grew up happy.

When he was ten, Daniella married a storekeeper who was ten years her senior. A kind widower by the name of Petre.  Petre had two children from her previous marriage.  Kaitlyn, age 8 and Colby age 4.  Petre's former wife had died shortly after the birth of Colby.  Petre ran the local general store, and was pretty well off in the community.

Kaitlyn and Colby immediately took to Tal'Aren, and Tal'Aren was a good older brother to both of them and to the new baby Cirus who was born when Ren was 12.  He formed a special bond with Kaitlyn, however, and when he was thirteen years old, and Kaitlyn was just eleven, Ren approached his step father and told him straight up "When I am twenty, if Kaitlyn will have me, I'm gonna marry her."

Petre at first thought this was a young boys musings, but had really no objections.  As Kaitlyn grew older, and prettier with her long hair the color of light brown sugar, vivid green eyes and flawless skin, she began drawing the attention of much of the village youth.  However, this caused her to be picked on by the more highstrung and jealous females of the town.  Some even who were much older.  Tal'Aren always stood up for her, sometimes even getting in fights with boys who wanted to make Kaitlyn theres now. Ren always stopped when Kaitlyn would ask him too.  It was than that Petre realised that none of the other boys would ever care about her as much as Ren.  So the store keeper began to encourage Kaitlyn and Ren's possible romance.  He even talked it over with Daniella who thought it was a great idea.

On Ren's fifteenth birthday, Petre approached him and asked him if he had told Kaitlyn of his plan.  Tal'Aren replied with "No. I don't want her judgement swayed.  If she is to love me, she'll love me than as much as now."

So nothing romantic ever happened between Kaitlyn and Tal'Aren up to the point the Wheel begins to turn again.
