As to pointers, the first thing you're going to want to do it establish, in your own head, why your character was picked as Security Chief by the Captain (especially for a more diplomacy-oriented ship like the Kent). Second, pick out a couple of existing characters with whom to develop a personal relationship - maybe friendship, or even friction/rivalry if you feel that has dramatic possibilities. Finally, think about what sort of subordinate NPCs you might want to flesh out your department with - feel free to turn to Trailfoot or to me for help with that.

*blinkblink* Well... lets see if I can get you caught up?

The current mission, you are probably aboard the Kent.  The Kent has just contacted  several Breen Ships about possible sentients being transported againse their will. As in slaves.

Since you are the Chief of Security, you will probably be boarding the ships along with the XO (That's me, btw...) Glinn Katell Danar. So a good place to start posting would be on the bridge.  The last thing that happened there was Katell asked the science officer if Breen sweat.

Meanwhile, The Captain, Li Ling Kaida, various diplomats and Saving Grace(My npc.) are heading in various runabouts and shuttle craft to speak with the inhabitants of a planet who have been being harassed, attacked, I think (Not sure on the attacking, but that is what Katell is assuming.) Unfortunately the inhabitants of said planet refuse to have Starfleet aide in their Breen problem because of a huge sense of pride  and self sufficiency that the whole race has.

Hence the problem.  So what was decided was O'Rouke (the Captain) would go down and discuss this with the inhabitants, while Katell (Being cardassian and all) was  going to quote StarFleet Order 20 which says it illegal to transport slaves, or anyone against their will, through federation space.  Currently we are in Breen/Federation contested space so everyone thinks the space is theres.

Katell just informed the breen of this mission, and I think has succeeded in annoying them a little.  Which is the point.

So I hope this helps catch you up? Ended up being longer than I had imagined.
As for a same sex-romance possibly triangle. . .

Um. . . good luck?  The females I know of are Li Ling Kaida (and she's married.) Marian O'Rouke (The captain, and heterosexual.)  Julie Parrish (Honestly, I don't remember what you do, Julie. I'll look that up, and I appologise. ), T'Mir (A vulcan yeoman that is played by Trailfoot as well.), The new diplomat (Don't remember your name. . I am really off today, again I apologise.)  And Saving Grace, my chameloid fighter pilot/waitress.

All of them are attractive, of course, it being a trek game.  And apart from Li Ling, I dont think any one is in a relationship. . But it'll be interesting to see what develops.
